Working remotely: the pros and cons

Working remotely, while great to be at home, saving money on travel expenses i.e., petrol/public transport, and let’s not forget the opportunity to work in your pjs, it can get rather lonely without the hustle and bustle of office life. You do find that you miss the socialisation of seeing your peers, colleagues and having lunch breaks with friends. If you do find that you are getting lonely, here are some things that you could do to get your spirits back!

drinks with friends
  1. you have a flexible work schedule, make use of that, and see if you can come in for half a day.
  2. arrange with your team to make days when you can come in.
  3. virtual team meetings so everyone is involved.
  4. use social media to your advantage and schedule lunch dates, outings, catch ups with your team.
  5. don’t want to go into the office, use a co-working space instead!
  6. dance around your home, you have the option of blasting your fave music – not a benefit afforded to all (wink)
  7. biggest tip of all, take care of yourself and take a 30-minute break, close the laptop, and walk around, stretch.

Let’s be honest, working from home (remotely) can have its drawbacks, its cons to the pros, often, sometimes the pros outweigh the cons or vice versa. Working remotely, the experience, can vary from person to person.

Here at Spot, you can arrange these things, especially if you want the feeling of being in office just without the hustle and noise from fellow colleagues, unless of course, it’s you and some other members of your team. At Spot, you will be taken care of, you have our amazing Concierge ladies who can help you and our amazing tenants as well who are easy to speak to, even if it’s a quick little ‘Hi, good morning’ as you pass by. As can be seen all around Spot; we are within Adelaide CBD and all around the corners are little cafes as well so you can always arrange with a co-worker to meet at a café, have a coffee, take a break before going back to work. As always, taking care of you should ALWAYS be the number #1 top priority!
